The Memes of Our Times (Part 1)

There have been fads that came and went. From Silly Bands to Vine, the list is almost never ending. However, one thing that has stayed constant is YouTube’s relevance in our lives.

For over 15 years YouTube has been part of many lives in providing a voice for people to share and discover content.

For this new segment of the blog I will feature a video that in my opinion captures what YouTube is all about and is important to the site’s history. Today’s featured video is a classic and has been stuck in my head since 2007.

A popular sub genre is goofy commercials from local television. Today’s featured video was one of the first commercials to go viral and start the trend of businesses trying to use viral stardom as a marketing strategy. Many have tried, but few have succeeded.
